Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, buying or using Archivum or Archivum Pro, or using inactivearchiver.com, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the software or the site.

1. The software and its license

Archivum Inactive Archiver (“the free plugin”) and Archivum Pro are licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. The free plugin is distributed through WordPress.org. Archivum Pro is distributed through inactivearchiver.com and needs the free plugin to work.

The GPL governs the code. What you buy with Archivum Pro is a license key, which gives you access to Pro’s downloads, updates and support for its term, on the number of sites your plan allows.

2. License keys, updates and support

• A key activates on your sites from Archivum Pro’s License tab. Each plan covers a number of sites: 1, 5, 25 or unlimited. You can free a site from your account and use the activation elsewhere.
• A key is for you or your organisation and the sites you look after. Do not share, publish or resell it.
• While a key is valid you get Pro’s updates, inside WordPress, and support from the people who build it.
• A key gates updates and support, never function. If a yearly key expires, Archivum Pro keeps working exactly as you set it up; updates and support stop until you renew.
• Lifetime Unlimited includes updates and support for the life of the product.

3. Purchases, billing and renewals

• Prices are shown in US dollars at checkout. Yearly plans renew automatically, each year, at the rate you bought at, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from

  ; you keep updates until the end of the year you paid for.
• You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase, and for keeping your billing details current.
• Card payments are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.

4. 30-day money-back guarantee

If Archivum Pro is not right for you, ask for a refund within 30 days of a purchase or renewal and you get your money back in full, no questions asked. This applies to every plan, including Lifetime Unlimited.

• The refund goes back to the original payment method. Your bank may take a few days to show it.
• When a purchase is refunded, its license key is deactivated and a yearly plan does not renew. The free plugin, and everything you have archived, are not affected.

5. Acceptable use

• Use the software lawfully, on sites you own or are authorised to manage.
• Keep backups. Archivum can delete plugins when you tell it to, and automatic deletion in Pro deletes plugins after the notice described on our
  Safety page
  . Deleted plugins can only be recovered from a backup.
• Do not attempt to interfere with, overload or gain unauthorised access to inactivearchiver.com or its license service.

6. Third-party services

Archivum works with WordPress, WordPress.org and the plugins on your site, and the store uses third-party services such as a payment processor. We are not affiliated with or responsible for them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. Third-party names appear only to describe compatibility.

7. Disclaimers

THE SOFTWARE AND THE SITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AS THE GPL ALSO STATES. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOHN KIRKER INC. WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE SOFTWARE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless John Kirker Inc. from claims arising out of your use of the software, or your violation of these terms or of applicable law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or deactivate a license key for a material breach of these terms, such as sharing or reselling it. Sections that by their nature should survive (disclaimers and limits of liability) survive termination. Your rights under the GPL are not affected.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the latest version, and material changes will be posted here. Continuing to use the software or the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
