Privacy Policy
How John Kirker Inc. (“Archivum”, “we”) handles personal data on inactivearchiver.com, and what Archivum and Archivum Pro send from your sites. Effective October 14, 2026.
1. What we collect on inactivearchiver.com
- Purchases and your account: your name, email address, billing details and order history. Card payments are processed by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
- License data: your license keys and the sites they are activated on.
- Support: the messages you send us.
- Server logs: like any website, our server records IP addresses, pages requested and browser type, to run and secure the site.
2. What the plugins send
The free plugin sends nothing to us. It has no tracking. It talks to WordPress.org only through WordPress’s own updater, when you choose to update a plugin as you restore it.
Archivum Pro contacts inactivearchiver.com when you activate, check or deactivate a license, and when WordPress checks for Pro updates. It sends the license key, the site’s address, and the versions of Pro, WordPress and PHP, so we can verify the key and offer the right update. It sends nothing about your site’s visitors, content or other plugins.
Archivum Pro also asks WordPress.org, about once a week, whether the plugins in your archive are still maintained there. That request goes to WordPress.org, not to us, and you can turn it off in Pro’s settings.
3. How we use it
- To sell, deliver, update and support the software, and to verify license keys.
- To answer you, and to send messages about your orders, keys and renewals.
- To run, secure and improve the site.
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax records, and to enforce ourTerms of Service.
4. Legal bases (GDPR and UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on contract (to provide the software, updates and support you bought), legitimate interests (to secure and improve our services, balanced against your rights) and legal obligation (for tax and records). We do not send marketing email.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell or share your personal data for advertising. We share it only with providers who process it for us under contract: web hosting, our payment processor and our email delivery provider. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
6. Cookies
inactivearchiver.com uses only the cookies it needs to work: keeping you logged in to your account and remembering your cart at checkout. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
7. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires; order records, for example, are kept for tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your account.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Updates to Archivum Pro are cryptographically signed, and Pro installs only updates whose signature verifies. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Under the GDPR or UK GDPR you may also complain to your supervisory authority. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]; we will respond as the law requires.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA) may ask to access, correct or delete their personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for using these rights.
10. International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the US and elsewhere. Where we transfer personal data from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Children
inactivearchiver.com is for businesses and adults, not children.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the effective date above shows the latest version. Questions or data requests: [email protected].
